id 9:16
If I preach the gospel, this gives me no ground for boasting, for necessity has been laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the Gospel.

Our Next Disciples' Night at Holy Childhood of Jesus...
|
The purpose of the monthly i.d.9:16 Disciples’ Night is to help deepen personal conversion, foster communion, and grow in an understanding of what it means to be a Catholic disciple in the world today. The meeting consists of Mass, dinner, and a compelling talk centered on one of the four pillars of discipleship.
Is the wait for the next Disciples' Night taking much too long? Check out the id 9:16 blog in the meantime.

Our Mission
In response to the call for a new evangelization, i.d.9:16 seeks to establish communities of missionary disciples and to provide opportunities for young adults (20/30’s) to encounter Jesus Christ, hear His call, and decide to follow Him.
i.d.9:16 is a response to what Pope Benedict called a “crisis of discipleship” in the Church today. In particular, Catholics in their 20’s and 30’s are leaving the faith at alarming rates. This is a direct result of ineffective evangelization and a lack of discipleship. We want to help parishes raise up young adult communities of missionary disciples who are characterized by what Pope Francis called a “missionary impulse” or a deep ache to spread the Good News. |

Holiness & Mission Every disciple is personally called to holiness and mission. Both the Great Commandment—to love God and neighbor—and the Great Commission—to go make disciples—are at the heart of what it means to be a disciple. Young adult ministry cannot simply rely on social events and activities but must provide a discipleship process. This takes place through formative teaching, the sacramental life of the Church, and within relationships of accountability, for the purpose of bringing believers to maturity in Christ. Our response requires intentionality and commitment.
